Papaya wine

Kasi Halwa /Pumpkin Halwa


Ingredients
Pumpkin grated - 1 cup
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 1cup
Cardamon -1/4 tsp
Saffron threads -few / Yellow food colour
Cashewnut

Method
  1. Wash the pumpkin and remove seeds from it. Peel the skin and discard it
  2. Grate the pumpkin . Now take a thin muslin cloth and squeeze out the water from the grated pumpkin. Dont discard the water . Collect it in a bowl.
  3. Take a pan and add 1 tbsp of ghee to it.Roast the cashew and set aside.
  4. Now in the same pan add the pumpkin and saute it for a few minutes . Now add the pumpkin water and cook  in a medium flame for 10 min .
  5. Now add sugar, ghee , a few saffron threads and mix well .
  6. Once its cooked and done ghee will start oozing out. You can also see spots in the halwa . 


Note:
Dont overcook as it will become hard when it is cooled
