About me

Hello friends
Myself Rachel Franklin . Am from the southern tip district of India. I had a passion for cooking when I was studying 5th standard. Even before I used to help my grandma and mom in kitchen by peeling onions,  cutting vegetables , putting my hand while my grandma was cleaning fish etc.My mom was a employee. She used to leave early to work. So I have to help her in kitchen before I go to school. Both my grandmas are great cooks. Some old traditional recipes that I have tasted in my childhood I have never tasted it back.My grandma is 90 Years old. Even now whenever I visit her I ask for some age old recipes.Another great person whose inspired my cooking is my Periamma (my mom's Sister).A humble person but does a magic in her cooking.
After I completed my 12th standard I went to hostel. Eggitarian hostel. Whenever I came back home for holidays I used to try new food. Cook chapathi, poori masala ( my dad's favorite) and help my mom clean chicken (live chicken ). I and my brother used to prepare kesari, semiya kesari when we are studying school. But when my mom went for work I used to experiment. Some failures. But I got a interest.
The real interest to cooking came from my loving hubby. He likes Kerala food. But I am good at Kanyakumari food. I started to search for good recipes .Oh my God!! .The recipes are endless. He is a person who gives a genuine verdict for my recipes. The worst I have made is upma. Even though I was versed in cooking other food,  in a basic upma I failed. Now I learnt. I have got so many gifts from my hubby. The best gift is a oven for my birthday..I love food. My grandma used to say,  always we should cook with our mind. Not for name sake.. Cook with love. Spread the love for food.
I was working as assistant professor in a college. I had to take a break due to health conditions .Got bored up. Started to write recipes in diaries. But I thought I would lose it very easily. So I thought of recording my recipes and ended in blogging. Am not a expert. Still learning.. Will be learning.
I have a distinction in my Engineering. But now I really feel I should have become a chef..But happy with what I am
My request to people reading my blog,  Just motivate others in whatever they do good..Ur loved ones will reach great heights..
