Karasev/How to make crispy spicy karasev


Ingredients
Gram flour - 1 cup+1/2 tbsp
Rice flour - 1/2 cup
Garlic pods - 2
Hing / asafoetida-1/4 tsp
Butter -1/2 tbsp
Salt
Pepper powder -1tsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Water
Oil to fry

Method

  1. Take a wide bowl. Add the gram flour,  rice flour,  hing,  salt, pepper powder,  red chilli powder and turmeric powder
  2. Mix it well. Add the butter and mix it well
  3. Crush the garlic pods. Add a tbsp of water. Now strain the garlic juice
  4. Add it and mix it well till it evenly spread all over the powder
  5. Add water little by little and mix it well to form a dough. The dough should be little watery than chapathi dough consistency
  6. In a pan, heat the oil required to fry
  7. Take a idiyappam press. Take a suitable mould. Now place the dough inside.Press the dough directly to the oil
  8. Flip over and cook till the sizzling sound stops
  9. Take it out from the oil,  drain it in a kitchen towel. Store it in a air tight container
