Ingredients
Gram flour - 1 cup+1/2 tbsp
Rice flour - 1/2 cup
Garlic pods - 2
Hing / asafoetida-1/4 tsp
Butter -1/2 tbsp
Salt
Pepper powder -1tsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Water
Oil to fry
Method
- Take a wide bowl. Add the gram flour, rice flour, hing, salt, pepper powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder
- Mix it well. Add the butter and mix it well
- Crush the garlic pods. Add a tbsp of water. Now strain the garlic juice
- Add it and mix it well till it evenly spread all over the powder
- Add water little by little and mix it well to form a dough. The dough should be little watery than chapathi dough consistency
- In a pan, heat the oil required to fry
- Take a idiyappam press. Take a suitable mould. Now place the dough inside.Press the dough directly to the oil
- Flip over and cook till the sizzling sound stops
- Take it out from the oil, drain it in a kitchen towel. Store it in a air tight container
