Idli rice - 3 cups
Urad dal - 1 cup + 1/4 tbsp
Fenugreek - 1/2 tsp
Poha - 1/2 tbsp
Rock Salt

Method
Idli rice - 3 cups
Urad dal - 1 cup + 1/4 tbsp
Fenugreek - 1/2 tsp
Poha - 1/2 tbsp

Method
- Wash the idli rice till you get a clear water
- Simlarily wash the urad dal until the water is clear
- Soak idli rice for 4 hours
- Soak the urad dal for 3 hours
- Soak the poha for 1/2 hour
- Drain the water and reserve the water for grinding
- First grind the urad dal until you get a smooth , fluffy batter . Grind it by adding little water.To check if the urad dal is done take a pinch of batter in a bowl of water. If it floats in water its done
- Then add the rice , fenugreek and poha , grind it smoothly.
- Switch off the grinder .Add required salt mix well .
- Mix the urad dal batter . The batter should have airy bubbles
- Allow it to rest for 10 to 12 hours
- Take a idli cooker . Grease the pan , pour the batter. Dont overmix the batter. Idli will become hard
- Once its done , remove from the cooker . Serve with chutney and sambar
