Papaya wine

Ingredients
Raw rice -1 cup
Water -2.5 cups
Coconut -1/4 cup
Red chillies -3
Hing - a pinch
Curry leaves - 1 string
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt -1tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Bengal gram dal -1 tsp
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Green chilli -1 (optional)

Method

  1. Wash and soak raw rice for 10 min .Drain the excess water .Dry it partially and transfer it to a mixie jar.Grind it coarsely
  2. In a small pan ,add about 1 tbsp of oil.Add the mustard seeds.When it start to splutter add the urad dal , bengal gram dal ,red chillies, green chilli,curry leaves and hing
  3. In another pan ,heat about 2.5 cups of water.When it starts to boil , add the salt 
  4. Now add the coarsely grinded raw rice.Mix it well at low heat for 5 min
  5. Add the tempering mix. Mix it well.It will start to thicken.
  6. Add the coconut .Mix  it till all the water is absorbed .When the mix gets thickened switch off the flame .Allow it to cool for about 5 min
  7. Now take a medium sized ball .Shape it .Place it in a idli cooker and steam it for about 5 min
  8. Serve hot with chutney
