Ingredients
Maida -2 cups
Baking soda -a pinch
Baking powder -1 tsp
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Butter -1 tbsp
Egg white -1
Sugar -2 tbsp
Curd - 3 tbsp
Oil to fry
Sugar- 2 cups
Water - 1 cup
Cardamon
Lemon juice
How to make
- Dry mix maida ,baking soda and baking powder. Sieve it well
- Add the softened butter and mix it well with your fingers
- Now add the ghee and mix it well till it combined well
- In a bowl add the curd ,egg white and sugar .Whisk it well till it is combined
- Add little by little and knead it well to form a soft dough
- Once done set aside for 30 min.Allow it to rest
- In a pan ,add 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water ,allow it to boil over a medium flame .Add the cardamon
- Boil till it forms 1 string consistency. Add lemon juice ,mix well and switch off the flame
- Now flatten the dough to form a rectangular shape about 3./4 inches thickness
- Cut to rectangular strips
- Heat oil in a pan .Fry the rectangular strips in a medium flame.Once done turn out the other side. Cook till all sides are done
- Take out and transfer it to a plate to drain out the excess oil
- Soak the paal cake in the sugar syrup for about 4 to 5min
- Take out from the syrup and allow it to cool
