Papaya wine

Paal cake /Milkcake Malabar special


Ingredients
Maida -2 cups
Baking soda -a pinch
Baking powder -1 tsp
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Butter -1 tbsp
Egg white -1
Sugar -2 tbsp
Curd - 3 tbsp
Oil to fry

Sugar- 2 cups
Water - 1 cup
Cardamon
Lemon juice


How to make

  1. Dry mix maida ,baking soda and baking powder. Sieve it well
  2. Add the softened butter and mix it well with your fingers
  3. Now add the ghee and mix it well till it combined well
  4. In a bowl add the curd ,egg white and sugar .Whisk it well till it is combined
  5. Add little by little and knead it well to form a soft dough 
  6. Once done set aside for 30 min.Allow it to rest
  7. In a pan ,add  2 cups sugar and 1 cup water ,allow it to boil over a medium flame .Add the cardamon
  8. Boil till it forms 1 string consistency. Add lemon juice ,mix well and switch off the flame
  9. Now flatten the dough to form a rectangular shape about 3./4 inches thickness
  10. Cut to rectangular strips
  11. Heat oil in a pan .Fry the rectangular strips in a medium flame.Once done turn out the other side. Cook till all sides are done 
  12. Take out and transfer it to a plate to drain out the excess oil
  13. Soak the paal cake in the sugar syrup for about 4 to 5min
  14. Take out from the syrup and allow it to cool
