Boli /Chana dal boli/ Sadya special




Ingredients
Chana dal - 1 cup
Maida - 1  1/4 cup
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Water
Sesame oil
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 1/2 cup +1 tbsp
Salt
Cardamon powder
Rice powder for dusting

Procedure

  1. Wash and Soak chana dhal for 3 hour.
  2. In a cooker , add the chana dal and cook for a whistle.Drain the excess water .Once cooled down add it to a mixie jar and grind it
  3. In a pan , add 1/2 tbsp of ghee .Add the powdered chana dhal .Mix it well till the  ghee is mixed well with channa dhal
  4. Add the sugar and mix it well .The mixture will become watery .Mix it till the mixture becomes dry
  5. Add the cardamon powder . Once it's cooled make big lemon size balls.
  6. In the meanwhile , take the maida , turmeric powder and salt in a bowl
  7. Add water little by little and mix it to form a dough
  8. In a deep bowl , add the dough and pour sesame oil till the dough is immersed full
  9.  After 2 hours , take the dough out from the oil and make small lemon size balls
  10. Make balls out of the chana dhal mix.The balls should be bigger in size than the dough balls
  11. Keep the maida dough  ball in the left hand and start to spread with the right hand 
  12. Now place the chana dhal ball and wrap it around with the spread dough 
  13. Press slighly and make thin round sheets with the help of chapathi roller.Use rice flour for dusting
  14. Heat a dosa tawa.Once its heated ,place the spreaded sheet. Turn on the other side when one side is done . If require some ghee can be sprinkled . Serve with payasam
